# Start Exploration

In order to start an exploration, you must first upload a Rhino 3D (.3dm) files.

Currently, we only support Rhino 3D (.3dm) files. However, we have in our plan to be compatible with Revit and SketchUp files in the short future.

* [Creating an Exploration](/explorations/start-exploration/creating-an-exploration)
* [Geometry Processing Errors](/explorations/start-exploration/geometry-processing-errors)

We consider only closed polysurface objects from Rhino. If you encounter this error, it means we could not find any closed polysurfaces in your model.&#x20;

&#x20;if you massings consist of extrusions, you can convert them to polysurfaces by using the `ConverExtrusion` command. <https://docs.mcneel.com/rhino/7/help/en-us/options/general.htm#ConvertExtrusion>

* You can select all extrusions by using the `SelExtrusion` command.&#x20;
* With all extrusions selected you can use the `ConvertExtrusion` command with the `DeleteInput` option.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2F6XfbwMFoCswZmV1Uq1Ml%2FNoValidObjectsExtrusion.gif?alt=media&amp;token=3cdff003-4037-4da0-8b21-29952d1cccb5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

if your massings consist of meshes, please rebuild them as closed polysurfaces.

# Invalid Unit Error

We currently only support Rhino model units of:

* Millimeters
* Centimeters
* Meters
* Kilometers
* Inches
* Feet

Your Rhino model units must be one of these in order to be processed.

# Building Coverage Processing Error

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FVpI7Ioll4aO8LqMHdDw4%2F5..png?alt=media&amp;token=27db4313-a132-4d18-8ed9-428059e00547" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

There was a error calculating the Building Coverage Area of your model. This usually means that there were some irregular geometry found above ground level. \
Please refer to [Rhino Geometry Error](/explorations/start-exploration/geometry-processing-errors/rhino-geometry-error) or [Malformed Rhino Geometry Error](/explorations/start-exploration/geometry-processing-errors/malformed-rhino-geometry-error) for trouble shooting.

# Maximum Object Limit Error

We allow only up to 5000 valid objects within a single file to be processed. Please ensure your models geometry count is kept under this limit.

# No Objects Above Grade Error

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FkHzvDknu86Ak08TdTxuf%2F7..png?alt=media&amp;token=6d7903a3-1d61-40ea-9a56-565f5aa52ab7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We consider ground level to be at Z 0.0 elevation. There must be objects whos lowest point is or above that elevation for us to calculate the buildings Site Coverage Area. Please ensure your models ground level is at that elevation.

Sometimes your model might seem like it is at the right level, but your CPlane might be modified. To check, you can try:

* Restore the CPlane to its original position by using the `CPlane` command, with the `World`, then `Top` options.&#x20;
* If your restored CPlane seems to be above the model, change your model's elevation using the `Move` command with `Vertical` option.

# No Objects Parallel to Ground Plan Error

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FSL47NQBn9DOlCq9xtTwp%2F8..png?alt=media&amp;token=7d60b320-36d1-444b-86da-39e3fac5aad2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

All valid geometries within the file must have a distinguishable "Floor". This is the bottom facing surface that is less than 1/6 incline. This is to tell the difference between what is acceptable as floor area, such as ramps, and be able to distinguish them from other design elements such as slanted walls. If your Rhino model somehow only consists of geometries that have floors that are steeper than that, we cannot process it properly.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2Fr7gBbUC6MmWDLlbIIvGT%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=d07b182a-5a83-423f-8268-a02d903202c2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This error means that the object with the specified Id in your Rhino model is unable to be processed in its current state. Of the few reasons why this can happen, the most common case is where the domain of the edges making up the polysurface is extremely disproportionate to their lengths.&#x20;

A common way to correct this is to select the object with the specified Id and rebuild it.&#x20;

* First use the `SelID` command with the provided id to select the object.
* Use the `DupFaceBorder` command and select the face that represents the floor of your object.
* Use the `SimplifyCrv` command and `Reparameterize` command with the `Automatic` option.
* use `ExtrudeCrv` command or anything else you need to rebuild your massing geometry. Make sure you use `ConvertExtrusion` if you end up with an extrusion, to ensure you have a polysurface at the end.

# Exploration Settings

You can set site data and model data in the Exploration Settings. Please refer to the [Zoning Data Settings](/explorations/exploration-settings/zoning-data-settings) and [Building Design Data](/explorations/exploration-settings/building-design-data) for detailed setup instructions.

* [Zoning Data Settings](/explorations/exploration-settings/zoning-data-settings)
* [Building Design Data](/explorations/exploration-settings/building-design-data)

# Zoning Data Settings

Once data updates are successfully completed, you can utilize the model data. You can set the Site limit and compare the model area with the site limit value.

1. In "Open exploration", floor area is automatically calculated and displayed. However, if the site limit for the project is not entered, some values in the Test-fit section may not be shown.
2. Site information can be entered in "EXPLORATION SETTINGS > ZONING DATA" located in the top right corner of the screen.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2Fp1vR6ttteNo5ZpSEyS4o%2Fezgif.com-video-to-gif%20(5).gif?alt=media&amp;token=8324c5e9-8fca-4309-94e2-f3ad2a28a8eb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

4. When you click on "Exploration settings", the following screen will appear.
5. Please enter the site information for each part in your project.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2F1G39sjHzZtA1FUNYM9Xy%2Fzoning%20data%20(1).png?alt=media&amp;token=bdac16fc-f7c1-4965-b31c-2779b8ea3579" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

6. After entering the Site data information, you can check what you have designed compared to the allowable site limits. Currently in Deepform, floor area calculated for Floor Area Ratio does not take into account any floor area that is below grade (ie B1, B2, …).

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FKgoiclByqeeWqzNVAB5N%2FDashboard%20main_%20large%20(9).png?alt=media&amp;token=c6aa1fd7-2010-4dbb-afef-cbc251e4c3a8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

7. If the value of the model design is over the site limit, it will be highlighted in red as shown in the picture below.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FQXcegD3Oevn0WfPtRKVD%2FDashboard%20main_%20large%20(10).png?alt=media&amp;token=523cdeb2-2719-4fd6-b3a5-3c964c3a7bcf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

8. You can adjust the area to calculate the value through the 'Building design data'. You can find detailed instructions on how to do this in the '[Building design data](/explorations/exploration-settings/building-design-data)'.

# Model Placement

Sometimes due to how you model your conceptual model, your masses can be quite far from the origin. This is when your geometries are far from coordinate 0,0,0. It is usually a good practice to keep your masses close to the origin, to avoid unnecessarily exaggerated values when making calculations.

You can easily reposition your model closer to the origin by using the `Move` command, and for the `PointToMoveFrom` option clicking on any ground level part of your model, then for `PointToMoveTo` option input `0,0,0.`&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FKRfTMAzQOZB9LfeoUjCY%2FOrigin.gif?alt=media&amp;token=35281850-c929-4b02-9c54-6c5b319affbf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Creating Objects

Deepform for Rhino works best with mass models that are extruded from plans.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FQujJRkueJoBgXsgPes21%2FSimpleExtrusionFromPlans.gif?alt=media&amp;token=fc24d9e9-753c-4296-ba6d-f422f30bc84f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Each object's geometry in your model should represent a mass with the following properties:

* [Floor](#floor)
* [Roof](#roof)
* [Level](#level)

## Floor

The floor is bottom surface of your object. All objects in your model must have a floor.

<div align="center"><figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FoQyfVrT8A5i7zoYBNFcD%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=de2ee0e6-9034-46e2-829a-54848f941bc0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FiUim01Oqz4jZq0aTCafp%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=53d33ef5-0d39-4fda-add4-b379ee05b0c3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* The floor must be a flat, planar surface. They cannot have curvature or be warped.&#x20;
* The boundary curves of the floor can consist of straight lines, arcs, or nurbs curves.&#x20;
* The floor of your object may also be sloped like ramps.&#x20;
* Your floor may also have openings in them, such as open spaces.&#x20;

## Roof

The roof is the top, upwards facing surfaces of your object.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2Ftd0n5AC3H6eVWsSJZG98%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=49e97f9a-9917-442e-a743-a5998439f332" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* The roof should be made of flat, planar surfaces.
* The boundary curves of the roof can consist of straight lines, arcs, or nurbs curves.
* The roof may have a single surface, or many sloped surfaces.&#x20;

## Level

Levels are inferred by analyzing the elevation of your objects, allowing us to automatically assign your objects to its correct level.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FwywtSiJsxTDRY8ODMZy7%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=0317d7f0-8ee8-4d16-aa44-f81ec66dbd90" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* The object's lowest point, usually the floor, is the basis for its level.&#x20;
* Objects that belong to the same level must have their floor at the same elevation.
* Your objects may vary in height, with some spanning multiple levels, such as auditoriums. As long as all objects have their floors aligned, they will be assigned to the correct levels.&#x20;

# Creating Floor Levels

We automatically create levels by the bottom most point of every mass, then assigns each mass to its corresponding level. But for us to create and assign levels that best represents your model, there are a few points you should know:

## Ground Floor is always at Elevation 0.0

You must position your model so that the ground floor objects are at elevation 0.0. This is how we determine which levels are above ground and which are below.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FotQbZaOrP2r1pTyrnZNk%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=d09249ce-4f1a-4d2f-ac7f-9aedcbc8b223" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Levels are place at floors&#x20;

We infer levels from the floor of your objects. So only where there are floors, there are levels.

Your model may have objects with different heights, such as auditoriums, or may even have outdoor spaces on some levels. We will still correctly create levels.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FF5TU5ygPoUTSMQtMMipC%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c062d6ee-0bde-42e5-b625-e9d8bd19ca82" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

However if your model has an empty space without any objects, we ignore that space and place levels on the next floor we can find.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2F2JhgOElRIecX12FKPqAu%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ebbdb651-d1bb-4d5a-bed9-ae205d5a8bc4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Skip floors are possible&#x20;

We generally group objects by their elevation, and allow some deviation.&#x20;

So if your model has objects that belong on the same level but have different elevations, we may still correctly set their levels.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FlwSCiknFpiffYts5FdvN%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=63f68e86-24a3-44d1-b37f-b24f12d5399f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FFm2MAZpuaTsvzyj295Kg%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=103db98e-fa8e-4f35-9de3-c9dd676d2726" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The acceptable elevation difference for skip floors depends on your model, such as the average height of objects and number of levels. But we recommend you keep the difference around **1 meter(3 feet)** for your objects to be considered on the same level.

# Creating Special Object Types

Spaces types listed below in the 3D model is represented by following Special Object Type guideline. Click on each special object type to see details.

* [Large open space with more than one level with mezzanine (ie Auditorium, etc.)](#large-open-space-with-more-than-one-level)
* [Space with sloped floor](#space-with-sloped-floor-ramps)
* [Stairwells and other Vertical Circulations](#stairwells-and-other-vertical-circulations)

## Large Open Space with More Than One Level

From an analysis perspective it is generally difficult to deal with masses that span multiple levels. Therefore we recommend the approach of modeling a singular mass per level.

Often when modeling a large open space we result in a single complex polysurface as this:

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FZJuUFih7cnnR42ma4vme%2FViewCapture20230312_114150.png?alt=media&amp;token=b6591d61-b764-48d6-a8bc-43b78c8f8ba4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We instead recommend that you model it so that it is a single space per level as such:

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2Fo2IbUHEE8QjfE0jx2mft%2FViewCapture20230312_114228.png?alt=media&amp;token=400fe51b-c7c3-4bd6-95b7-34e23f5a2db4" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Space with Sloped Floor (Ramps)

For any downward facing face to be considered as a floor must have an incline of less than 1/6, as that is the maximum allowed slope in many countries. Any surface steeper than that will not be considered a floor.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2F4gZsnTAynNXdDlxSQw37%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=c1945670-874e-4272-8e75-4c347dd41d2f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Stairwells and other Vertical Circulations

We Recommend you model masses for stairwells and other vertical circulations such as elevator shafts just like any other masses: By their area boundaries as blocks.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FHXHfgdIwhFst3WarDqgn%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=baf1b5a8-6dab-4711-bb21-0db611e842e2" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Creating Objects Above/Below Grade

In most places around the world, the Building Coverage Area is defined as the building's footprint on site, with some slight differences by conditions. In our explorations, we calculate the Building Coverage Area by the projected area of any geometry that is above ground.&#x20;

## Any object that is visible above ground is used for Coverage Area Calculations&#x20;

We consider elevation 0.0 to be ground level. Usually only objects on levels above ground are used for calculating the coverage area.

However, even for objects placed on levels below ground, if their geometry is visible above ground, we use them in our coverage area calculations as well.

In the following two images, we have a below ground space, colored in purple, with its roof partially above ground.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2Ff6FIClmjOjy2dIHbZ218%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a996d039-7245-4bea-a6e8-8b97674c35eb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Because its roof is above ground, in our explorations it will be used for coverage area calculations.

# Creating Parking Spaces

You can represent your parking spaces using blocks. When you upload your Rhino file, we will display the list of Block Definitions with their instance count in the model, from which you can choose which represents your parking spaces. If you have more than one block definitions that represent your parking spaces, you can choose multiple in the Parking Data Settings.

* Select objects that you want to use as your parking space.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FAspsyGYX1ncVQWj3Yxgd%2FParking%20Select.gif?alt=media&amp;token=8f7c257a-6a91-47c4-852a-0a68254405db" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* Use the `Block` command, then pick an insertion point and choose a block name to create a block.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FGNnN59NZmqBJKgbM5J5d%2FParking%20Block.gif?alt=media&amp;token=1438e875-aa33-48d7-bd2a-53e35cb1bdcf" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* Arrange the newly created block instances to your parking design. <br>

  <figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FOch7N1pw1oiNgA4EWkXN%2FParking%20Arrage.gif?alt=media&amp;token=2260aecc-7c49-4767-9074-87a05ba13eed" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
* After you upload the file and create an exploration, go to the `Model Data` page.
* In the `Parking Data` tab, select the block definitions that you will use as your parking spaces.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2Fa5QFo1yZkPe07UF1omDD%2FScreen%20Shot%202023-04-14%20at%204.21.58%20PM.png?alt=media&amp;token=c3e3ac69-d330-45e8-9a1c-268cb46f6f2d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Set Object Layers

We use layers to group masses. They can be used to assign programming to groups of masses, or even used to denote building groups in a multi-building design. However due to Rhino's ability to create incredibly deeply nested layers, we only take into consideration the last leaf layers.&#x20;

Consider the following layer settings below is a a very common pattern in layer settings with conceptual designs in Rhino.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2F1Rn9mtB66umEsu9FLaW0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=9ff5cbe7-ca63-433d-842e-e5e1f09cf669" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

However since we cannot accommodate all layer settings patterns, we recommend you name your last level layers uniquely:

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FJd3h4KWHes557DJHWK6D%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=4cd06e58-1659-4844-82ca-4ae43ddd0b5a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
We allow you to rename and group these levels so you can override them later in the exploration dashboard.
{% endhint %}

# File Saving

## Exporting

If your file contains multiple design alternatives or other working models, we recommend that you export your current design to a separate file. This way you know exactly which objects will in your exploration.&#x20;

* Select masses that you want to use in your exploration.
* Use the `Export` command to export to another Rhino 3dm file.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FToBaFqymZsaxoYtgNnZ2%2FFileExport.gif?alt=media&amp;token=ddf74753-0fe0-4f41-909b-caee5969f676" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## File Size

Currently we only only files that are under 100mb to be processed. If your file is larger than that, or if you want to speed up the processing speed, you can use the `save small` option.

<figure><img src="https://1332114379-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FXMvtGN1e7aVBIxLxVC0n%2Fuploads%2FXEYFeVva2BgiBnG1CbHE%2Fsavesmall.gif?alt=media&amp;token=7ae08fcf-6d3b-4b7c-b123-a89a2f7a168a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

A copy of your Notification will be sent to the person who posted or stored the material addressed in the Notification. Please be advised that pursuant to federal law you may be held liable for damages if you make material misrepresentations in a Notification. Thus, if you are not sure that material located on or linked to by the Services infringes your copyright, you should consider first contacting an attorney.

If you send us a valid, written Counter Notification meeting the requirements described above, we will restore your removed or disabled material, unless we first receive notice from the party filing the Notification informing us that such party has filed a court action to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity related to the material in question. Please note that if you materially misrepresent that the disabled or removed content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney's fees. *We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.*

#### ***If you are located in the EU or UK, this section applies to you.***

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on in order to process your personal information. As such, we may rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information:

* **Legal Obligations.** We may process your information where we believe it is necessary for compliance with our legal obligations, such as to cooperate with a law enforcement body or regulatory agency, exercise or defend our legal rights, or disclose your information as evidence in litigation in which we are involved.<br>
* **Vital Interests.** We may process your information where we believe it is necessary to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of a third party, such as situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person.

#### ***If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you.***

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time. Click [here](#9.-what-are-your-privacy-rights) to learn more.\
In some exceptional cases, we may be legally permitted under applicable law to process your information without your consent, including, for example:

* If collection is clearly in the interests of an individual and consent cannot be obtained in a timely way
* For investigations and fraud detection and prevention
* For business transactions provided certain conditions are met
* If it is contained in a witness statement and the collection is necessary to assess, process, or settle an insurance claim
* For identifying injured, ill, or deceased persons and communicating with next of kin
* If we have reasonable grounds to believe an individual has been, is, or may be victim of financial abuse
* If it is reasonable to expect collection and use with consent would compromise the availability or the accuracy of the information and the collection is reasonable for purposes related to investigating a breach of an agreement or a contravention of the laws of Canada or a province
* If disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, court order, or rules of the court relating to the production of records
* If it was produced by an individual in the course of their employment, business, or profession and the collection is consistent with the purposes for which the information was produced

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information. Specific information about how we use such technologies and how you can refuse certain cookies is set out in our Cookie Notice.

### **6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?**

*If you choose to register or log in to our Services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.*

Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Facebook or Twitter logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture, as well as other information you choose to make public on such a social media platform.

We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this privacy notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. We recommend that you review their privacy notice to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information, and how you can set your privacy preferences on their sites and apps.

### **7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?**

*We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice unless otherwise required by law.*

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us.\
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

### **8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?**

*We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.*

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

### **9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?**

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "[HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE?](https://codebeautify.org/htmlviewer#contact)" below.

### **10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES**

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.

### **11. DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?**

# Cookie Policy

Last updated March 06, 202

This Cookie Policy explains how Deepform, Inc. ("**Company**," "**we**," "**us**," and "**our**") uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our website at [**deepform.net**](https://www.deepform.net/) ("**Website**"). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

In some cases we may use cookies to collect personal information, or that becomes personal information if we combine it with other information.

### **What are cookies?**

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by the website owner (in this case, Deepform, Inc.) are called "first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies." Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and also when it visits certain other websites.

### **Why do we use cookies?**

We use first- and third-party cookies for several reasons. Some cookies are required for technical reasons in order for our Website to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. Other cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our Online Properties. Third parties serve cookies through our Website for advertising, analytics, and other purposes. This is described in more detail below.

### **How can I control cookies?**

You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can exercise your cookie rights by setting your preferences in the Cookie Consent Manager. The Cookie Consent Manager allows you to select which categories of cookies you accept or reject. Essential cookies cannot be rejected as they are strictly necessary to provide you with services.

The Cookie Consent Manager can be found in the notification banner and on our website. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our website though your access to some functionality and areas of our website may be restricted. You may also set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies.&#x20;

The specific types of first- and third-party cookies served through our Website and the purposes they perform are described in the table below (please note that the specific cookies served may vary depending on the specific Online Properties you visit):

### **How can I control cookies on my browser?**

As the means by which you can refuse cookies through your web browser controls vary from browser to browser, you should visit your browser's help menu for more information. The following is information about how to manage cookies on the most popular browsers:

* [Chrome](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647#zippy=%2Callow-or-block-cookies)
* [Firefox](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop?redirectslug=enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences\&redirectlocale=en-US)
* [Safari](https://support.apple.com/en-ie/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac)
* [Edge](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/microsoft-edge-browsing-data-and-privacy-bb8174ba-9d73-dcf2-9b4a-c582b4e640dd)
* [Opera](https://help.opera.com/en/latest/web-preferences/)

In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit:

* [Digital Advertising Alliance](http://www.aboutads.info/choices/)
* [Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada](https://youradchoices.ca/)
* [European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance](http://www.youronlinechoices.com/)

### **What about other tracking technologies, like web beacons?**

Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to a website. We may use other, similar technologies from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called "tracking pixels" or "clear gifs"). These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enables us to recognize when someone has visited our Website or opened an email including them. This allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within a website to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to the website from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

### **Do you serve targeted advertising?**

We may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements. This can be accomplished by using cookies or web beacons to collect information about your visits to this site in order to provide relevant advertisements about products of potential interest to you. The information collected through this process does not enable us to identify your name, contact details, or other details that directly identify you unless you choose to provide these.

### **How often will you update this Cookie Policy?**

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please therefore revisit this Cookie Policy regularly to stay informed about our use of cookies and related technologies.\
The date at the top of this Cookie Policy indicates when it was last updated.

### **Where can I get further information?**

If you have any questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please contact us at
